Sometimes you just have to shoot your shot!
these women and girls gave me the opportunity to do just that, trusting me to try my hand at portraits for a change. It was a pleasure growing in my craft while capturing their beauty spontaneously or documenting some monumental moments in their lives. I've fallen in love with these images and i hope you love them too.

like me, cece is a philadelphian and gates millennium scholar who graduated in the midst of this pandemic. In the summer, we linked up to commemorate this accomplishment with senior portraits around the university of maryland campus. this terp just got one degree hotter.

my cousin tamika had her first child at the beginning of the pandemic. her daughter, faith, arrived prematurely and she was never able to have a maternity shoot or a newborn shoot. after a few months, we decided to conduct this shoot as safely as possible; in her backyard with masks.

ava & amya are twins that I've had the pleasure of coaching in track & field. i've watched them grow up over the years and it's insane that they've just graduated middle school. To commemorate this transition and accomplishment during the pandemic that hindered ideal ceremonies and celebrations,

i took their graduation photos at the philadelphia art museum.

August 2019

i attended a photowalk with black creatives in long island city and i met jada. her fierce beauty had a gravitational pull that was undeniable. as a dancer, her movement and bodily formations made collaborating together on these photos a joy. there could not have been a better way to break in my 50mm 1.8 lens than with her as my  muse.
